Unions Vs. Auto Dealerships

Unions, standing in the gap for the little guy. Unions, standing in the gap for those who are getting the shaft from the Big Guys. Unions have been historically a way to level the playing field for the workers and to help the workers live better, so the bumper sticker goes. But that is where it stops.

You will realize this once you read this article.

Obama auto task force warns against dealer plan

The entire article here. Breitbart is a wonderful place to read news that is new(my words of course).

So what does this have to do with Unions. Well Ron Bloom, who is the point man for the Obama administration, who is working on this huge car bail out mess, is a huge Union man himself. Working for the United Steelworkers Union, Service Employees International Union and for the Jewish Labor Union. He worked as an investment banker and even owned a boutique firm. Apparently there was not enough money in that to keep his interests. Or maybe the company they owned threatened to Unionize on him.

So this guy now finds himself in the belly of the Union Beast fighting against the very same individuals that he was supposed to care about. Funny how being in power will do that to you.

Well the legislation that this “Union Man” opposes would not only give time to the dealers but also relieve them, for the most part, of their obligations to the Teamsters pensions. The Teamsters are the ones who transport the vehicles from the factory to the dealers. When in doubt follow the money. This bill in congress would also give some auto dealers temporary protection from millions in withdrawal fees owed to a Union pension plan.

Even the car dealers are being pinched by the Union thugs and they are out of business, for now. But you know what, we must protect that which is Union, no matter what the cost is to the other guy.

I can see why the bumper sticker says “Live Better, Work Union”. I mean even after you destroy an industry you get more money out of a pension from that destroyed industry. How cool is that!

So this big car guy in the Government is trying his best to kill off what is left of “real working Americans”. Yes I said real working Americans, because these guys have to work with out a safety net and do not take a Union brake for this or that. So I do not want to hear from you “we work hard too, at our Unionized $20 hour job with benefits and full vacations” crowd. It will fall on deaf and unsympathetic ears.

Here is a thought, why does not Ron Bloom cut back benefits for the Unions, you know, to spread the wealth around a little bit. Level the playing field for all and not just the “chosen” few.
